For the lost souls...

For anyone who has NEVER been taught, I do pardon your ignorance, however, a proper tip is 15-18% of the total bill. And if you are miserable, do NOT come out to dinner and pester the server.

With that said. I'm going to enjoy the rest of my weekend.

Happy Sunday.

Tradition?!

Something that bothers me is that my generation (1985-Present) are all ultimately obsessed with defying tradition. I mean, I get that it is important to be different and try something new, however, I feel that it is redundant to be so caught up in the fact. For example, 1 in 3 girls from ages 14- 19 will become pregnant. Also, they will name their kid something like Ansleigh or Ayevah or Peighton or Lileighana. (Something that has like 50 letters) I mean I feel like this generation is forgetting the empowerment of humanity. Also, everyone is so quick to judge someone about their views on politics, abortion, or the legalization of marijuana. Why the heck does it even matter? But back to my original example, Lileighana, Peighton, Ayevah, and Ansleigh will grow up being forced around by parents who are uneducated, unemployed, and unwed. Often, I have heard the archaic excuse of "Well that was their parents' lifestyle, so thats all that should be expected of them." People something is wrong here. We shouldn't encourage our children to continue this cycle, but to break it. Everyone asks me when Wil and I are gonna get married and have kids. We love each other with our whole hearts but I am 19 and he is 22. Clearly, we aren't ready. I'm not perfect also, I do not care to be. Consequently, I do care about our future as a human race. Maybe I am flawed, because I've saw some of my best friends jump off a cliff (figuratively) and ruin their lives, and cheat themselves of the life they deserve, but I feel like it should be taught that you deserve better. 37 percent of all teenage parents (boys and girls) have NEVER filed a tax return. What does this mean? Oh, they've NEVER worked. What does this mean? That our society says that it is OK to "go to the Social Security Office" and they'll help. Sorry kids. But Social Security is about to fold. I guess my main point isn't the problem with my peers giving up on their chance to lead a successful life, but to promote the empowerment of ourselves as young adults. We have so much power. We influence the decisions of marketing companies, politicians, parents, teachers, everyone. They model their lives around what we're doing, and what we think. Why waste all of that power for a stupid and petty idea of the "binding" of tradition??

SASQUATCH. Blah.

As a bit of insight into this discussion, which has fascinated me for many years, I am posting this link for your reading/learning pleasure. Also, please continue to keep in mind that these OPINIONS are my own and not meant to be factual. Any of my personal theories and OPINIONS are meant to be just that, OPINIONS. :)http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/14/bigfoot-dna-results-final_n_2681135.html?utm_hp_ref=weird-news
**This article really doesn't have a lot to do with this particular blog, it more or less inspired my idea. Just an interesting read:)

Before reading these views, please also take into consideration, I am writing by basis of the assumption that you are familiar with these types of theories. If not, please take a moment to Google them. The listed article doesn't do the best job explaining the theories, it just is an aid to imply skepticism, or not.

Whether you call him Bigfoot, Sasquatch, or a fake story that someone made up to scare their children, this particular "creature" has intrigued generations. Many religions declare this as a "fluke" in order to support the fact that based on their belief, the Evolutionary Theory is unfair. However, it doesn't really matter whether or not you think that you evolved from a primate or primate-like creature, or if you believe that God created you from ashes or what have you. What matters here is what we know. Not what faith or ministers or our parents teach us, but exactly that, what we, ourselves know to be evident. I think that the real argument here is that is it more important to believe in something that you can't see, or take the time to understand something that is in plain and visible sight.

It can be argued from any professional opinion that science can prove that we evolved from some type of extinct (or hiding) creature. For example, scientists who study Bigfoot often make the argument, like the link listed above, that humans are genetically linked to these types of creatures.  I have been taught that no matter what, evolution is wrong. Or that God will punish you for researching and digging into the theory that maybe he created something different first. (Please note, that I will not make references to or accept any references from the holy Bible, I am fully aware of what it says, as I have researched this on my own.) Another part of these evolutionary theories in question that I find very interesting, is that after all of the many years of trying, and searching for answers, there has only been small steps toward making any progress with proving (or disproving) the fact that Bigfoot does or (doesn't) exist. Fascinating. I'm really not saying that I believe all of the hype about Sasquatch, but I will inquire that no one or no "thing" has given me a reason not too, either.

This is mostly why it infuriates me that we are teaching our children to disbelieve something that cannot be proven or disproved.  Especially people who have grown up around faith-based religions.  I am a proud Southern Baptist and my church is the epitome of the word by any default. On the contrary, I do find it important to educate yourself about topics you are ignorant of. I do not think it is right to teach our future generations to "hate" for lack of a better term, something that we, ourselves, do not even fully understand.

I would LOVE to hear your views and opinions on this by definition, controversial matter.

Re-do Undo

Deep thought of today: Recently, I noticed that an  acquaintance of mine from my same high school has violated their probation two times over the past 6 months. (In my area, this information is by no means kept secret.) In continuance, one of the offenses they committed being much stronger than the other. However, this person is the type who "tries" to change but never seems to get to a safe and comfortable place. For example this particular individual has been married AND divorced (with two small children) all just barely by the age of twenty-three. The interesting thing to me about this particular subject is that life is a series of choices. Also, it is negotiable whether or not one's fate is predetermined. However, personally, I believe that the person in question has the power to change their inner self. I do not mean though, that it is natural and innate. I believe that in order to make this change one has to realize that there is a problem. Also, I feel that anyone with the common knowledge to do so can. Is it a matter of ignorance? Or unwillingness? My next question is how far does one have to go before they reach the breaking point or "rock-bottom."

Reaching Out

Disclaimer: All comments regarded here are subject to viewing WORLDWIDE. Please be considerate with what you say. :)
With that said, here is my first official blog post. :)

Naturally, I am a college student who is involved in several extra-curricular activities and I also have a job.  I still maintain fine grades and I feel that my college education is time well spent.  If you are in college/ or a college graduate, what are your tips for success? Or, are you struggling with time-management, peer pressure, etc.,

Comment your thoughts and let's talk about it!!!:)

Introduction

As a scholar, I feel that it is necessary to publish my thoughts to the Web as a mere means of communicating those thoughts with people who are smarter than I.

I also have felt the urge to reach out to people with the same urges and beliefs as I.  Please enjoy my blog, and feel free to comment and give me ideas for future blogs. However, constructive criticism is the ONLY kind of criticism that I will be embracing. I will update this blog as much as possible with thoughts about real life issues and questions. I look forward to sharing these thoughts and issues with all of you.
